The Tweet was followed by a 21-second teaser for the proposed configurator. Two versions of Tesla’s electric car, namely the Long Range Battery and Performance versions, will be available in Europe.
The Long Range Battery performs best range wise and the performance versions are concerned with performance, just like the name suggests. On a full battery, the entry level Long Range may provide 530 km of autonomy, whereas the Performance versions can provide 560 km of autonomy on a full battery. The Long Range may provide the drivers with a comparatively better range, but when it comes to acceleration and top speed, the Performance versions beat the Long Range with 3.5 seconds and 250 kph as compared to 4.8 seconds and 233 kph.
The price of the car varies from one European country to another. The cars are priced at their cheapest in France at 53,500 EUR for the entry level and at 64,300 EUR for the top range. The most expensive among them is available in Finland at 60,500 EUR for the entry level and 71,700 EUR for the top range. Tesla has offered the cars in five colors in Europe.
Tesla’s official Chinese webpage announced that they have already opened its Model 3 configurator in China with the Long Range AWD and the Performance version. The Model 3 Performance is priced at 560,000 RMB and the Long Range AWD variant is priced at 499,000 RMB following the decision of the Chinese State Council Customs Tariff Commission to suspend the extra 25% tariffs placed on cars imported from the US.
The Model 3 Performance (the Chinese version) will feature a 19 inch ‘Power Wheels’ and the Enhanced Autopilot feature is priced at 46,400 RMB which may increase up to 65,000 RMB according to the company. As for the interior, the white seats are priced at 9,3000 RMB and paint options such as “China Red” are priced at 23,100 RMB. Chinese buyers can pick up the car from 14 locations across China listed on the website from March. Tesla’s Chinese website has also announced that the Standard Range version of the Model 3 would be available in mid-2019 in time with their US configurator.
