Instagram Dark Theme for Android Q can now be activated

One of the features that most Android users ask for is the dark theme, which has already been confirmed to arrive with Android Q (up to second order). The latest information on this feature relates to support for dark mode in third-party apps.

Users of the XDA forum have revealed more details about the dark theme of Android 10, or Q. The first thing is that the dark theme can be applied manually or automatically, based on the time, i.e. it should work overnight. The user can also set the time, if he prefers it to work sooner or later, as well as full time.

A number of Google applications already have a dark or greasy theme, such as YouTube, Android Messaging, and Google News. It turns out that not all third-party apps rely on this option, which should change with the arrival of Android 10, since some applications that run on the previous version of the next system already support native dark mode, as is the case of Instagram, Tumblr, Groupon, WhatsApp, Snapchat and SideDocks:

These applications receive a dark interface automatically along with the system when the default Android theme changes. This is a really dark interface, although the top of the applications still display colors. It seems to be a “forced” theme, but developers will be able to adapt the screen of their applications until the final release.

It is expected that over time Google will introduce a mandatory requirement for applications that will go on Google Play for the dark theme mode. If they are designed for devices running Android 10 Q, then it is obvious that the developers themselves must implement and test the night mode.
