WhatsApp for Android Q gets native dark mode support

Although there will be some who think it is a simple aesthetic addition, the Dark Mode is actually a very useful function designed for the welfare of the user. When activated, the interface of the network, app or platform that we are using happens to have a dark tone and the level of brightness is considerably reduced, something beneficial for the human eye especially in low light conditions.

Our eyes rest while we can continue using the mobile. Implemented in apps, networks, and platforms such as Twitter, Messenger or YouTube, since the end of 2018 we are seeing it in tests on WhatsApp Beta.

The dark mode is the trend. The arrival of OLED screens to mobiles has accelerated the launch of this alternative within the main applications. Also in Windows 10, we have a dark mode, in addition to having a dark mode in major browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

In the shared images we can see the different menus within the WhatsApp settings. We see the configuration that shows the settings of the chats or notifications. Unfortunately, it does not show how the main menu of chats would be with this dark mode or the interior of a conversation in which the mode is already applied.

As we say, it can not be activated yet even being a participant in the beta program of WhatsApp. However, you must have an Android device running the latest Google operating system Android Q software, and then head over to the settings > Developer options > Override force-dark.

These applications receive a dark interface automatically along with the system when the default Android theme changes. This is a really dark interface, although the top of the applications still display colors. It seems to be a “forced” theme, but developers will be able to adapt the screen of their applications until the final release.
