Lenovo patent reveals foldable display Windows 10 laptop with OLED screen

Foldable laptop with virtual keyboard indeed another leap for technology. Lenovo is planning to launch a foldable laptop with a virtual keyboard. Amidst all the companies who are trending with foldable phones, the company filed a patent in which a laptop with Windows 10 and a foldable display can be implemented.

In the smartphone market, flexible displays are seen as the next big step in the evolution of devices. Samsung has already presented a first “concept” with the Infinity Flex with a tablet that can be folded to a smartphone. Taking everything into account, Lenovo has filed a patent for the design back in 2017.

Interestingly, the Lenovo patent sees a physical keyboard in this case, which should also significantly increase the productivity of the device compared to the Lenovo Yoga Book 2. The patent has just been published by the US Patent and Trademark Office and points to a foldable notebook with a screen portion and a keyboard portion.

The company filed the patent back in July 2017 under the name “Device with Foldable Display,” and it describes a laptop with a foldable region. The patent also shows how the keyboard and display can be folded against each other. Other parts of the patent explain how the user will be able to interact with the device. It gives an idea about the viewing angles which will fall somewhere between 40 to 50 degrees within users eyesight.

These patents don’t always hold up to become an end product, but it wouldn’t be the first time that Lenovo has come up with a reasonably unique device. Lenovo previously released the Yoga Book, and recently the company released, the Yoga Book C930.
